Read 2 Succeed Information

Families of 3rd graders:

Act 114 requires that a student must be retained in the third grade if the student fails to demonstrate reading proficiency at the end of the third grade as indicated by scoring Does Not Meet Expectations or at the lowest achievement level on the SCReady. Though there are a number of exceptions to this requirement in the law, please be assured that our school district’s goal is that all students will be proficient readers by the end of third grade.

 

We will use iReady Diagnostic/Inform Testing to predict SCReady success. Teachers will inform families if students are at risk for not passing the end of year SCReady Reading Test after iReady Data is collected.
